Emily B. Kaley, B.S.
Eating healthy and being physically active come instinctively to Emily as she grew up in a family that modeled a healthy lifestyle due to her mother's profession as a Registered Dietitian and her father's diabetes. Childhood experiences as simple as being her dad's sous chef, preparing fresh vegetables for family dinners, and becoming a junior black belt in Isshinryu karate at the age of 15, taught her that pairing nutrition with exercise is key to achieving a healthy lifestyle. This understanding has motivated her to pursue a career combining nutrition and sport. She has taken every opportunity she can to have a variety of experiences from different perspectives, from paid and volunteer work and currently with her work with University of Colorado - Colorado Springs Athletics as Sport Dietitian to division 2 athletes. Emily pass the registration examination for dietitians and has been in practice for the past 2 years while in Graduate School for Sport Nutrition. Emily has been focusing on sports nutrition and plans on becoming a Board Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics which will give her the necessary tools to work with athletes. Emily was recruited by Alicia to help on the SwimMac Recovery Shake project in a lead role this spring and summer 2015. She then had the great opportunity to work with Olympic athletes as Alicia Kendig, Sport Dietitian on the US Olympic Committee, Graduate Assistant in Colorado Springs. Emily now has her own company, Emily B. Kaley LLC which allows her to work individually with clients on the areas of health she feels most passionate about, from assessing eating habits to working on original meal plans and giving professional presentations.
Emily loves cooking, exercising and especially enjoys teaching healthy cooking techniques, grocery shopping habits and safe exercise routines for her peers and clients. She was also bit by a huge travel bug so she explores and experiences different countries as much as possible. Her goal is to use her passion for exercise, nutrition and sport so she can ensure individual, group and team athletes have sound health practices in these areas of health.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Science degree in nutrition and dietetics from Simmons College in Boston, MA and is attended University of Colorado - Colorado Springs for their Masters degree in Sports Nutrition 2017.
